West End Avenue

A 500 square feet apartment in a historic upper west side brownstone was masterfully reworked to feel much more expansive. Doors were enlarged to enhance the ceiling height and a leaded glass transom was installed above the bedroom door to allow light to stream between rooms. Designed to provide a respite from the bustle of the city below, it is articulated through the soothing pale blue and off-white palette. The original plasterwork, moldings, floor, and fireplace were restored to contrast the new modern kitchen and bath. Even an office nook, generous closet space, and bike storage were creatively included.
