A historic home that was built in the late 19th century by an architecture-loving industrialist was purchased to become home to an expanding family. The clients appreciated the existing details yet desired to modernize the bathrooms and kitchen. Careful insertion of their modern art and furniture collection creates an eclectic yet well-choreographed contrast. Neutralizing the palette throughout and adding discreet recessed lighting brightened the formerly dark interior. Discreet pocket French doors were located where they had originally been. We are continuing to revitalize this home and we are currently designing a generous master suite.
